Alkali Prof. Rufai Alkali, Special Adviser (SA) to the President on Political Matters, has urged politicians not to campaign along religious line in order to get voters’ support. He said this in Abuja on Tuesday, at a Political Summit organised by Southern and Northern Amalgamated Support for Predsident Goodluck Jonathan. According to Alkali, ethnic and religious differences should not be seen as basis for voting a candidate into office and nobody should see them as tools for campaigning for vote. “Politicians should campaign based on candidates’ integrity and achievements so that the nation would continue to develop. “Nigeria is a secular state and for that reason, it will not be fair for anyone to campaign along religious or ethnic line for elective offices”, Alkali said.
