Youths protest killings in southern Kaduna

Southern Kaduna youths on Thursday protested against the killings by yet-to-be identified gunmen in parts of the area. The protest, which started about 10am in Manchok in Kaura Local Government Area of the state, terminated at the Chief Kagoro palace. The Chief of Kagoro and Leader of Southern Kaduna  Traditional  Rulers,Chief Ufuwai Bonet, however, shunned the youths, who stormed his palace to submit their letter over massive killings  in the zone. The youth and organisers of the protest, the  Concerned Southern Kaduna Youths,waited in front of the chief’s  Palace for 30 minutes without seeing him to receive the letter on  behalf of  his colleagues. The youth carried placards with inscriptions such as  ‘Stop Genocide in Southern Kaduna Now’,’They kill us on daily basis in  our land’ and ‘Our land under siege’, among others. Palestinians to bury teenager killed in Jerusalem

Abu Khdair Palestinians are preparing to hold the funeral of a teenager abducted and murdered in Jerusalem. The killing of 17-year old Mohammed Abu Khdair on Wednesday was condemned by both Israeli and Palestinian leaders. The murder sparked fierce clashes amid claims it was in revenge for the killing of three Israeli youths. Meanwhile Palestinian militants in Gaza fired several rockets at Israel. Israel responded with a series of air strikes on the territory early on Thursday. Israeli officials said militants fired 20 mortars and rockets. “The Israeli Air Force attacked 15 terror sites in Gaza early Thursday morning,” an Israel Defence Forces official said. “The targets included weapons manufacturing sites as well as training facilities,” the official added. US teen accused of trying to help ISIS

A Colorado woman was arrested at the Denver airport in April and charged with conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists, according to court documents that were unsealed Wednesday. Shannon Maureen Conley, 19, allegedly told FBI agents before her arrest that she was going to be with a member of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, that she had met through the Internet. “It’s a difficult time for us,” her mother, Ana Conley, told CNN on Wednesday. Conley’s attorney, Robert William Pepin, said he had no comment. His client was arrested on a jetway while trying to board a flight to Germany on April 8, according to a criminal complaint. She told investigators she was going to Turkey to await word from her suitor. Conley, a certified nurse aide, had told FBI agents she was going to be the man’s wife and a nurse in a ISIS camp near the Turkish border, documents showed.
