INEC Assures Of Hitch Free Elections In Plateau

Plateau state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Habu Zarma said this during a meeting with various groups seeking support on strategies to sensitise and mobilise citizens for effective participation in elections. Issues ranging from permanent voters cards, delimitation of electoral constituents, guidelines for political parties, and lists of registered and de-registered political parties as well as the electoral commission’s strategic plan document were discussed at the meeting. Egypt court orders detention of Morsi over Hamas links

The international community had called on the Egyptian state to legalise the position of the former president An Egyptian  court  has ordered the detention of ousted Islamist president Mohammed  Morsi  for questioning over colluding with Palestinian militant group Hamas to storm police stations and jails during the 2011 uprising. Morsi, 61, will also be quizzed on whether he collaborated with Hamas in attacks on police stations and prison breaks in early 2011 during the revolt against former president Hosni Mubarak, MENA news agency reported. This is the first official word on Morsi's status after he was ousted on July 3 by the Army. The judicial detention was initially ordered for 15 days. The train hurtled at high-speed along a curve and derailed, court spokeswoman Maria Pardo Rios said Friday. The boxes record the train’s trip data, including speed and distances and braking and are similar to flight recorders for airplanes. The Chairman of UNN-ASUU, Dr Ifeanyi Abada, made this position known while briefing newsmen in Nsukka after a congress attended by some national and zonal officers. Abada explained that the union took this stand because government did not sign the agreement under duress. The driver, lightly injured, “would be questioned by police in hospital where he has been placed under surveillance,” the High Court in Galicia said in a statement Thursday. The investigating magistrate in the case had not ordered his detention, the statement added. “The judge has asked police to take his statement,” in the presence of a lawyer, a court spokeswoman said. The  update  is going out over-the-air (OTA) and users will get a notification within a few days to a maximum of two weeks. Sony announced update plans, while other makers have not reported upgrade plans. Android 4.3 come pre-installed on the Nexus 7, the Wi-Fi version of which launches on July 30. The major featured added in Android 4.3 is that it offers restricted profiles, limiting access to apps and content which is helpful to parents or for retail use. It can let devices be used for credit card transactions without the users getting access to the some of Google account holders' information.  Restricted users don't get access to Gmail, calendar, Play Store or in-app purchases.  Apps can be chosen to for each user. Realising the horror about to unfold , the 52-year-old, with 30 years’ experience, made a desperate call to bosses and said: “I’m going at 190kmh (118mph), I’m going to derail.” In a second frantic call after the accident, he explained that he was trapped in the cabin and added: “I hope there are no dead because they would fall on my conscience.” After he was freed, Francisco Jose Garzon sobbed as he wandered around the carnage in shock saying: “I’ve derailed. South African 'serial rapist' found dead

Sifiso Makhubo, who faced 122 charges, including murder, was found hours before his trial was due to start. He is also charged with attempted murder over allegations he knowingly infected his victims with HIV - the first such prosecution. South Africa has one of the highest rates of sexual violence in the world. Some 64,000 cases were reported to the police last year. It is also the country with the largest HIV-positive population - some 5.5 million people, or 17% of those aged 15-49. The authorities say Mr Makhubo was alone in the cell and is believed to have hanged himself with a blanket but they are investigating the circumstances of his death.
