19 kids poisoned by yogurt in China

Nineteen school children in central China were hospitalized this week after consuming yogurt laced with poison, China’s state run news agency Xinhua reported.Among the sick children, three were in serious condition, the agency reported. But none of the victims suffered life threatening injuries, CNN reported.The incident occurred Wednesday at a school in Hunan province, the news agency reported. A 34-year old woman has been detained and accused of placing rat poison and herbicide in the yogurt, Xinhua reported.

Gunmen shoot Jonathan’s official photographer

Goodluck Jonathan President Goodluck Jonathan’s official photographer, Mr. Callistus Ewelike, was on Monday night shot by unknown gunmen in Abuja. Ewelike, a photojournalist with the News Agency of Nigeria is attached to the State House, Abuja, and he is currently acting as the President’s official photographer. The father of two was reportedly shot at a close range in front of his house in Nyanya in the outskirts of the Federal Capital Territory, between 10pm and 11pm. He was said to be returning to his house after filing the photographs he took during Jonathan’s visit to Shape Community in the FCT, where the President inaugurated the Operation Light Up Rural Nigeria Project when the incident happened. Mandzukic struck after 13 minutes as Bayern made it two wins from two matches under new boss Pep Guardiola. Striker Mario Gotze, Bayern’s £31.5m summer signing from Borussia Dortmund, was an unused substitute as he waits for his debut. Victory in Frankfurt saw Bayern’s current crop equal a club record of 27 Bundesliga matches without defeat. Alexander Meier had a goal ruled out for the home side. Guardiola took over from Jupp Heynckes, who won the treble of the Champions League, German Cup and Bundesliga in 2012/13. Mandzukic’s goal was the least Bayern deserved by half-time as he acrobatically volleyed home from Thomas Muller’s cross.
